Abstract: This technical brief describes methods and techniques that can be used to improve existing grain storage structures as well as to construct low cost water impermeable grain storage in flood prone areas. Existing grain storage structures used by the communities are often traditional and primitive, which are less durable and highly subjected to significant damages during floods and other natural disaster situation. This technical brief outlines several methods to make existing grain storage structures water impermeable and resilient to floods.
